Bristol Harbour Festival

Bristol Harbour FestivalIf you are a fan of arts, circus, dance, music, boats, nautical capers, good food and drink and general enjoyment, make sure you put the Bristol Harbour Festival in your diary.

The Harbourside is the beating heart of the city. The festival started in 1971 when some boat owners headed to the harbour to save the docks from being filled in. They succeeded, and the Bristol Harbour Festival has been with us ever since.

Festival highlights

  • Historic ships
  • Boat racing
  • Flyboarding
  • Steamboats
  • Daredevil dogs
  • Music in a variety of locations along the Harbourside
  • Gravity-defying Cirque Bijou

From babies to teens to the young at heart, all are invited to explore and discover leafy Castle Park with Cirque Bijou over the weekend. There'll be things to make and do, places to get muddy and sandy, singing, storytelling, racing, impressive skills and tricks to learn and plenty of nooks and crannies in which to soak up the atmosphere and watch the wildlife go by.
